The origins of Sage Fruit Company are rooted in the history of immigrant families who came to the fertile Yakima Valley to farm. They found the climate ideally suited to growing tree fruits. During the 1900’s, these families took their operations to the next level and built packing facilities to complement their orchard businesses.

Founded in August, 1999, Sage Fruit Company has become a premier grower-shipper of apples, pears and cherries. Located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, we take great pride in our commitment to quality, innovation, and service. Sage growers farm several thousand acres of orchards throughout the state of Washington, as well as parts of Oregon. We offer a variety of apples, and pears throughout the year. During the summer months, we pack Dark Sweet and Rainier cherries.

Three family businesses from Central Washington own Sage Fruit Company; these family businesses include Valley Fruit in Wapato, Olympic Fruit in Moxee and Larson Fruit in Selah. While Sage Fruit is made up of families who came to Yakima long ago to farm, the company itself began when the family of grower-shippers found it would be beneficial to join forces in order to provide consistent year-round supplies to their customers.

Today, Sage Fruit Company not only ships fruit to retailers in the U.S., but around the world to Asia, Europe, South America, Mexico and Canada.  We are proud to supply some of the world’s healthiest foods from one of the world’s most fertile growing regions.
